TRANSFLO History

1964  New York Central (NYC) (later part of Conrail) builds its first Flexiflo terminal outside Indianapolis, Ind.
1968  The L&N Railroad (later part of the Seaboard system) builds its first Distribulk transfer terminal in Atlanta.
1973  The Chessie system enters the bulk transloading business.
1983 With the merger of the Chessie system and the Seaboard system to form CSX, the combined bulk transfer network is named Bulk Intermodal Distribution Service (BIDS).
1999 Conrail Flexiflo terminals added to the BIDS network.
2000 TRANSFLO Terminal Services is incorporated, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CSX.
2010  TRANSFLO maintains 58 active terminals, with locations in every major city east of the Mississippi, and one in Canada.
